Purity, Isotopic Ratio & Particle Customization

Standard off-the-shelf boron materials rarely satisfy the rigorous demands of high-end manufacturing. BoronHub delivers full-spectrum customization covering chemical purity, isotopic abundance, particle size and morphology from atomic scale to macroscopic granules, eliminating the need for you to compromise on process design due to substandard generic materials.

I. Chemical Purity Customization

Grade Purity Total Metallic Impurities Typical Applications
2N 99% ≤ 10,000 ppm Metallurgical additives, refractory materials
3N 99.9% ≤ 1,000 ppm Fine chemicals, precursor for boride synthesis
4N 99.99% ≤ 100 ppm High-performance ceramics, special alloys
5N 99.999% ≤ 10 ppm Semiconductor research, premium electronic packaging
6N 99.9999% < 1.0 ppm Doping for advanced-node chips, SiC power devices

Metallic impurities of all grades are independently tested and verified by accredited third-party laboratories via ICP-MS or GDMS to ensure objective and traceable test data.

II. Isotopic Abundance Customization

Boron possesses two stable isotopes: ¹⁰B and ¹¹B, with natural abundances of approximately 19.8% and 80.2% respectively. The two isotopes exhibit vastly divergent nuclear properties, and customers’ abundance requirements vary by application scenario.

BoronHub supplies natural-abundance ¹⁰B/¹¹B product series as well as enriched ¹¹B series with adjustable isotopic ratios upon request, covering multiple chemical forms including elemental boron, boric acid and boron trifluoride. Isotopic abundance is precisely quantified by third-party institutions using ICP-MS or TIMS.

ℹ️ Note: Products enriched with ¹⁰B are subject to export control. Please consult our sales representatives for relevant inquiries.

III. Particle Size Customization

Form Adjustable Particle Size Range Standard Available Grades Application Scenarios
Powder D50: 5 μm – 200 μm Customized per client requirements Fine chemicals, catalyst carriers, powder metallurgy
Granule 500 μm – 10 mm 1–10 mm (standard grade) Metallurgical additives, alloy smelting

Key controlled parameters: Full particle size distribution (D10 / D50 / D90) is precisely regulated with D50 deviation ≤ 1% to guarantee consistent performance across batches.

⚠️ Compliance Notice: For elemental boron products with purity exceeding 97%, only granular forms above 500 μm are available for export.

 IV. Particle Morphology Customization

Morphology Type Characteristics Typical Applications
Spherical / Near-spherical Excellent flowability, high packing density Powder metallurgy, raw material for additive manufacturing (3D printing)
Flaky Large specific surface area, superior orientation performance Thermal conductive fillers, lubricating coatings
Irregular lump Sharp edges, strong mechanical interlocking Superhard abrasives, thermal spraying
Regular crystalline block Intact crystal facets, high mechanical strength Semiconductor doping sources, synthesis of superhard materials

Adjustable morphological parameters: Sphericity, BET specific surface area, integrity of crystal facets.
