Amorphous Boron

Amorphous Boron adopts an α-tetragonal crystal system and appears as dark brown to slight yellow powder. The customized amorphous boron powder independently developed by BoronHub is a high-end product. After deep processing, its purity can reach 99%–99.9%. The standard D50 particle size is ≤2 μm, and submicron powder finer than 500 nm can be customized. It boasts excellent chemical activity: oxidation commences at 300 °C, and it is highly flammable at 700 °C. It dissolves in concentrated alkalis with hydrogen released. It is widely used in solid rocket propellants, nuclear shielding boron steel, synthesis of rare earth borides, airbag initiators and other sectors.
